Karolína Withdraws from Prague Open
Following her triumph in Stuttgart, Germany, Karolína Plíšková decided to withdraw from the tournament held at Stromovka in Prague. The reason is her fatigue from a busy program and painful groin. Plíšková is now being looked after by physiotherapists every day, trying to get ready for the Mandatory tournament in Madrid, starting on Saturday already.
Karolína Plíšková will therefore not face her twin sister Kristýna, against whom she has been drawn for the first round. Karolína at least organized an autograph session for her fans and showed her trophy she won at the Stuttgart Open on Sunday.
Karolína Plíšková’s explanation:
Hello Prague! It was a very tough decision for me, but due to my groin problems I have to pull out of the tournament at Stromovka. The past two weeks in Stuttgart were very difficult and I need a few days for regeneration. I’m really sorry about this because I was looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd. But I didn’t want to disappoint you with my performance, which wouldn’t be hundred per cent OK. Thank you for your understanding and support and enjoy the tournament!
