Coach Sascha Bajin Joins Karolina Pliskova’s Team
German coach Sascha Bajin has become a new member of Karolina Pliskova’s team. The man who has worked with Serena Williams in the past and led Naomi Osaka to two Grand Slam titles will accompany the best Czech tennis player in 2021.
Preparation for the new season started for Karolina on 23 November in Marbella, Spain. It was there that Sascha Bajin made his first appearance as a new member of the team.
“I believe that Karolina is a player with a huge potential and everyone knows that she is still one of the best in the world. So, of course: I was very excited when the offer came that allows me to work with a recent world number one,” the 36-year-old German professional with Serbian roots explained.
Sascha Bajin used to work as a hitting coach for Serena Williams for several years. Subsequently, he worked with Naomi Osaka, Kristina Mladenovic and Dayana Yastremska.
“Of course, I have to believe that the whole team will have confidence in our work and even Karolina herself will feel that we are going in the right direction. But I want her to be sure that she will be the best Karolina Pliskova she can be. To be sure that she is in the best physical and playing condition. I want to make sure that her mentality on the court can be improved and of course there are some things to improve in her game as well. I feel that some things can be done a little better than they have been so far. These are my plans,” Sascha Bajin added.
Their first WTA tour event together should be the Australian tour in early 2021.
