New member of Karolína Plíšková’s team
Karolína Plíšková’s team changed during the summer of 2021. The new fitness trainer was the Croatian Marino Basič, who in the past trained leading tennis players Miloš Raonič and Born Čorič and most recently collaborated with Dayana Yastremska.
“The change of fitness trainer is the idea of the coach Sascha Bajin and the cooperation with Marino started after the Olympic Games,” says Karolina’s husband Michal Hrdlička.
After a long period ended the cooperation with Azuz Simčič, who has been in charge of Karolina’s condition since 2017. “Of course, saying goodbye to Zule was very difficult. He is a great guy with an eternally good mood. We remain very good friends. Thanks to him, Kája was in great condition for long time and managed the demanding tournament program without health problems. He has now received an offer to be a coach at our tennis academy,” added Michal Hrdlička.
Marino Basič is a leading Croatian fitness coach and he also trained tennis players and other important athletes. He collaborated with football player Ante Budimir, preparing two-time Olympic rowing winners from Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2021 Valent and Martin Sinkovič, or the successful MMA fighter Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovič.
Basič joined Karolína Plíšková’s team before the American tour. In addition to coach Sascha Bajin, another member of the team is also the Spanish physiotherapist Haim Ganancia. Preparations began in the Bahamas. Karolina will be played in Montreal and then flight to Cincinnati. Next stop will be US Open in New York.
